Use a Reset Word After Every Mistake

mental gameresetmistakes

The Situation

You make an unforced error and the mistake stays in your head for the next 2โ€“3 points.

What To Do

Choose one reset word โ€” 'next', 'vamos', or 'reset' โ€” and say it immediately after any mistake. Out loud or in your head. Then move on completely.

Why It Works

Padel Rules coaching specifically identifies quick mental resets as a core skill: saying a phrase like 'next point' reminds you to refocus and prevents one mistake becoming three. The word acts as a mental interrupt โ€” it breaks the rumination cycle before it starts.
