Pass Cross-Court When a Net Player Moves

passreadingbreaking net

The Situation

One net player has shifted toward the center, leaving the cross-court line open.

What To Do

Drive a low fast ball cross-court into the gap the moment you see them commit. Aim knee height just beyond their extended reach.

Why It Works

Net players must choose between covering the middle and the line โ€” when they commit to one, the other opens. The pass works because you are hitting into a space they just vacated, not trying to beat a stationary player. Waiting for and reading this movement is what separates advanced players from intermediate ones.
